Requirements for Students

Enrollment is open to families from member churches of NWASBC on a first come first serve basis. Non-member families may enroll as space is available, yet all school policies are applied to all Slavic Christian Academy families.

o   Minimum Age: Preschool children must be four years of age by midnight, August 31st. Kindergarten children must be five years of age by midnight, August 31st, as stated in

o   WAC 180‑39‑010.  A child entering first grade must be six years of age as of midnight, August 31st, of that year, as stated in WAC 180‑39‑015. 

o   Kindergarten Readiness Screening: Each student who applies for enrollment will be administered the Readiness Screening evaluation, which helps determine school readiness. Recommendations for acceptance will be made from the results of the screening.

o   Each student must be in good standing from the previous school attended, i.e., passing marks academically and a good behavior record.  A student with poor academic performance or behavior problems will be placed on probation for one quarter or assigned to the SCA Remedial Program. If results are improved, a student will be officially enrolled at Slavic Christian Academy.

o   Secondary students, grades 6-12, must verbally and in written form be committed and willing to attend Slavic Christian Academy. The student must be willing to abide by all the procedures and rules of Slavic Christian Academy.

 

Note: As an exception, at each local campus, school administration in cooperation with local school pastor, may review a student’s admission on individual basis.
